Who we are
Promitheas was founded in 2012 as the first Patient Association for liver diseases in Greece. Through its long-standing presence in the field — from prisons and the streets to the Community Hub and the remote border islands — it has brought to light a deep and multifaceted gap in access to healthcare, particularly for socially and economically vulnerable groups. A gap that transcends the boundaries of a single-issue mission and demands systemic solutions.
In 2025, Promitheas integrates this experience into the core of its identity and evolves into an organization with an expanded social mission: to defend the universal right of all vulnerable populations to health.
