Promitheas participates in the Two-Day European Meeting of the ECDC

Promitheas participated as an official partner in the two-day European meeting organized on April 23–24 by the ECDC and the Polish Ministry of Health, within the framework of Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Through its presence, Promitheas actively contributed to the European dialogue on progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 3.3 (HIV, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, STIs), presenting its experience and project outcomes from correctional facilities across Greece. This participation is part of the organization’s strategy to strengthen public health in prison settings and its ongoing effort to highlight Greek best practices at the European level.

Project results so far:

  • More than 9,673 prisoners have been screened for viral hepatitis B & C and HIV
  • Over 815 individuals have already been linked to treatment
  • In the last year alone, approximately 5,410 people were tested
  • Health is a right that must be safeguarded in every environment.
