City Connect
Get tested for hepatitis C now!
- Project Duration 14 - 17 JUN 2022
With the central message “Get tested for hepatitis C now,” the “City Connect” initiative invited residents of the cities of Kavala, Komotini, and Alexandroupoli, born between 1945 and 1980, to get tested for hepatitis C. The aim was to identify cases that may require treatment in order to eliminate the virus.

Information booths were set up in central city squares to promote the campaign and facilitate public awareness, while a mobile unit also operated to conduct screening tests (for hepatitis B and C, and for HIV). Additionally, events were organized in each city to inform doctors about viral hepatitis.
As part of the project, the following actions took place from June 14 to June 17, 2022:
Kavala:
- June 14, 2022 – Informational event on “Chronic Viral Hepatitis” (19:00–20:00 at the Municipal Library of Kavala “Vasilis Vasilikos”)
- June 15, 2022 – Free testing at the mobile unit (11:00–14:00 at Eleftherias Square)
Komotini:
- June 15, 2022 – Informational event on “Chronic Viral Hepatitis” (19:00–20:00 at the Multifunctional Center of the Municipality of Komotini)
