Ι Deserve to Know Plus
Free liver elastography screenings for the 65+ age group
- Project Duration FEB 2023 - FEB 2024
The purpose of the “I Deserve to Know Plus” initiative was to improve the health and quality of life of elderly individuals (over the age of 65) by offering free liver elastography to beneficiaries in remote areas across the country.

This initiative aimed to address a significant gap in the healthcare system, given that liver elastography is not reimbursed by the state. At the same time, it sought to enable early diagnosis and prevention of serious conditions, offering meaningful support to seniors who are at increased risk of developing chronic diseases – including certain types of cancer, such as liver cancer, which, according to the World Health Organization, is the third most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.
Through the free provision of elastography exams, participants had the opportunity to be informed about the degree of liver damage they may be experiencing, thus contributing to the prevention of irreversible developments and the promotion of their overall health.
Over the course of one year, the certified team of “Promitheas” visited remote areas and islands, offering free liver elastography tests to residents over the age of 65. The areas where interventions took place included: Rhodes, Samos, Astypalaia, Lemnos, Kos, Ioannina, Kavala, Veria, Kozani, and Kastoria.

The examinations were conducted in remote and hard-to-reach areas of the country, and the following data were collected:
