Naloxone Saves Lives

  • Project Duration 14 FEB 2024
The "Naloxone Saves Lives" campaign had as its main objective to raise awareness of the high mortality rate from opioid overdose, and to promote naloxone as the effective and immediate life-saving antidote.

On 14 February, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the campaign promoted love not only as a feeling, but as an act of care, acceptance and solidarity. Through information material and communication actions, it promoted knowledge about overdose and the need for first aid using naloxone. It stressed the importance of supporting those in a vulnerable position, without prejudice and exclusion.

More than 20 000 citizens were informed about opioid overdose and the role of naloxone as a means of preventing high mortality. The impact of the campaign highlighted the importance of continuous information and helped to raise social awareness to protect human life.

“Naloxone Saves Lives” was held in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies as part of the Partnership for Healthy Cities.
