Hope V Study – Evaluation of the Living Conditions and Access to Healthcare Services for Patients with Hepatitis C
The study on the evaluation of the living conditions and access to healthcare services for patients with Hepatitis C (HCV) had as its main objective the identification of the barriers faced by individuals living with Hepatitis C during their interactions with the healthcare system, as well as the assessment of their living conditions.
The results revealed that, in addition to the negative impact of the economic crisis on the overall standard of living of the patients, significant barriers were found in accessing healthcare services. These barriers were attributed both to the financial constraints imposed on the healthcare system and to deficiencies in organization and the prevailing bureaucracy.
The study was conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Health Policy and was under the scientific responsibility of Associate Professor of Health Policy at the University of the Peloponnese, Mr. Kyriakos Souliotis, with Prometheus being the implementing organization.
