Hepatitis C does not sleep – There is a new cure
The information campaign under the slogan "Hepatitis C does not sleep - There is a new cure" aimed to inform and mobilise injecting drug users, their supportive environment and health professionals about the modern, effective and most available treatments for Hepatitis C. At the same time, priority was given to prevention and avoiding reinfection after treatment, contributing to the overall effort to eradicate the disease by 2030.

The campaign was implemented by Promitheas with the scientific supervision of the Hellenic Society for the Study of the Liver (HESMH) and included:
Creation and screening of two original informative videos:
- Hepatitis C does not sleep – There is a new cure (HERE),
- There is no new treatment for hepatitis C. The treatment for hepatitis C will change your life (HERE)
- Operation of a dedicated website (The new Cardiovascular Cure will change your life)
- Distribution of information material in simple, understandable language in targeted areas and social structures throughout Greece.
The actions were aimed at providing timely information and combating misinformation, especially for the vulnerable group of people with a history of injecting drug use.
The information campaign contributed to:
- Raising awareness of new Hepatitis C treatments that are effective, safe and available to all.
- Raising awareness among patients and health professionals about the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
- Highlighting the seriousness of the disease, its prevalence among injecting drug users and the need to include this population group in targeted interventions.
- Public reminder that the elimination of hepatitis C by 2030 is not possible without care and action planning for socially excluded and vulnerable groups of the population.
The campaign was carried out by Prometheus, with scientific oversight provided by the Hellenic Association for the Study of the Liver (HASL).
