The Expression of Health through Art

  • Project Duration 2016 - 2017
  • Location Athens - Thessaloniki
The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness and inform the public about Hepatitis C, through an alternative form of expression - Street Art. Particular emphasis was placed on promoting diagnostic testing and addressing the social stigma that accompanies the disease.

In 2016, Promitheas implemented an original awareness campaign using Street Art as a key medium. The world-renowned Greek artist INO created an impressive mural on the wall of the EOPYY building in Athens (Pireos & Deligiorgi), reflecting the need for a change of attitude towards life and the priorities of modern man.

In 2017, the campaign was extended with the second part under the title “The Expression of Health through Art: Hepatitis C and Stigma” (HERE).This time, INO created a mural on the facade of the Hippocratic Hospital of Thessaloniki, focusing on combating social prejudice against patients.

As part of the second phase, a press conference was held at the “TOMS Flagship Store” in Thessaloniki, where the project was presented and aspects of social stigma were discussed.

  • Creation of two large murals of high artistic and social value in Athens and Thessaloniki.
  • Dissemination of the message of awareness and destigmatization through the power of art.
  • Wide promotion of the campaign and positive reception by the public and the media.
  • Promotion of Hepatitis C as a social and not only a medical issue.
