The Delta Care Project aims to address a double challenge: 1. the increased prevalence of the Hepatitis D virus and 2. the limited information about this virus among the inmates of Korydallos Prison. Through an integrated approach combining targeted awareness-raising activities and free screening, the project seeks to enhance knowledge, early diagnosis and access to health care for a vulnerable and often neglected population.

Project actions include:

a) Creation of information material with clear information on transmission, prevention and treatment of Hepatitis D. This material is distributed to prisoners with active HBV infection and is available in different languages (Arabic, Urdu, Georgian, Albanian) to ensure understanding of the educational material and empower beneficiaries.

b) Targeted viral screening for Hepatitis D in prisoners with Hepatitis B, reducing costs and increasing effectiveness.
