«I Deserve to Know Plus II»

With great success and strong participation, Promitheas completed the sixth and final action of the program “I Deserve to Know Plus II” for the elderly in Chania, from July 14 to 18, 2025.

The examinations took place in two KAPI centers of the Municipality of Chania – KAPI Nea Chora & KAPI Pachiana. Aiming to improve the health and quality of life of older adults (65+), and drawing on its long-standing nationwide experience, Promitheas examined a total of 107 individuals, with 91.2% of participants being over 65 years old (98 individuals).

Specifically, 93.5% of beneficiaries (100 people) underwent liver elastography for the first time. In addition, 19 elderly individuals (19.4%) suffer from Diabetes Mellitus, 50 (51.0%) from Hypertension, 66 (67.4%) from Hyperlipidemia, and 21.5% were diagnosed with Liver Fibrosis (21 individuals).

The program “I Deserve to Know Plus II” has now concluded, having examined 602 elderly people out of the 645 participants, across 6 different regions of the country (Kos, Agrinio, Veria, Kavala, Kalamata, Chania).

Bridging the gap in the healthcare system, Promitheas once again provided, completely free of charge, access to a non-invasive examination that is still not covered by health insurance funds. In just about 10 minutes, and thanks to a specialized device owned by the organization (fibroscan), the condition of the liver can be diagnosed for the examinee.

The program is implemented with the kind support of the TIMA Charitable Foundation.
